Hand Embroidery Bookmark

Hello friends!! Today I’m bringing you a Hand Embroidery Bookmark Tutorial. I think this hand embroidery bookmark will be an ideal gift for your book-addict friend. I am a book-addict myself so I made this as a gift for me. Haha !!

This video includes not only how to stitch these beautiful flowers but also how to make this bookmark.

Embroidering Process

This embroidery is stitched on Linen fabric using cotton embroidery thread.

I used the weaving stitch for the flowers. Oh I love how they turned out. What do you think about them?

And also I mixed two green shades for the stems and the leaves.

Making the bookmark

Well. I wish I could use a printed fabric as the backing fabric. But Alas !!! In my stock, I didn’t have a matching printed fabric that goes well with the embroidered yellow flowers. Also I couldn’t go and buy one due to the imposed curfew in order to prevent COVID -19. So I had no option except continue using the same Linen material I used for the hand embroidery piece.

Below are the measurements I used to make this bookmark. How I joined these pieces together is well-explained in the video tutorial. How to hide the knots when stitching the border is shown too in the video. Definitely an important tricky tip for you to remember !!! Thank me later !!

Also I used a lace which is around 6 inch in length. If you need you can use a ribbon or a tassel or a bead attached to thread or anything as you wish. I used this lace because that was all I had at the moment.
